A government advisor who broke lockdown rules to meet his married lover will face no further action from the police. Professor Neil Ferguson accepted he made "an error of judgement" by breaching social distancing rules, Scotland Yard have said.
Nicknamed "Professor Lockdown", Ferguson was key in advising the Prime Minister on putting the lockdown in place. Scotland Yard said it was "plainly disappointing" but ruled out issuing a fine because he "has taken responsibility" after resigning from his senior position.Ferguson asked his mistress Antonia Staats to visit him at his home across London even with the strict conditions in place.The visits happened just weeks after he recovered from the coronavirus.He had stood down from the
