The death of a female on railway tracks has been sadly confirmed by police. Emergency services were called to Mauldeth Road railway station in south Manchester on Saturday morning.
Police and paramedics attended shortly before 11.45am. READ MORE: Latest Greater Manchester coronavirus infection rates as cases spike in every borough It followed reports made into emergency services control rooms of a 'casualty on the tracks', British Transport Police (BTP) confirmed.
BTP officers were assisted by Greater Manchester Police officers. Sadly, paramedics pronounced the casualty dead at the scene.
BTP confirmed the death was not being treated as suspicious. A file of evidence will now be handed to a coroner ahead of a possible inquest.
