Coronation Street star Shelley King teases upcoming romance for Yasmeen and Stu
Coronation Street star Shelley King has teased an upcoming romance plot between her character Yasmeen Metcalfe and former homeless man Stu Carpenter. Now working at Speed Daal and living with Yasmeen, things are certainly on the up for Stu, who was instrumental in getting Corey Brent sent down for the murder of Seb Franklin.Earlier this month, it was revealed that Stu has a daughter, Bridget, who he hasn't spoken to for years.Yasmeen was left heartbroken to discover Stu isn't even aware he's now a granddad, and became determined to track Bridget down after all these years. Now things could be looking up, as actress Shelley exclusively hinted to Daily Star that she hopes Yasmeen will find love with the "gentle" Stu.Shelley appeared at the MEN Pride of Manchester Awards earlier this month alongside her co-stars Julia Goulding (Shona Platt) and Sair Khan (Alya Nazir) to present a gong to PC Simon Toft and PC Alicia Snowden for their extraordinary bravery. The officers were first on the scene at a medical centre where a man was armed with knives and a meat cleaver, keeping patients and staff trapped. When asked if she thinks romance is on the cards, Shelley told Daily Star at the ceremony: "I think possibly! I think that Yasmeen’s had enough of a hard journey through her relationship life with her husband and her son who died, and now she’s met this gentle man who’s also flawed."Yasmeen is a mender, she’s a fixer, and I think that’s very attractive to her. He’s gentle, he’s human, he’s cuddly - and Yasmeen wants to save him."So let’s see what happens as their relationship grows, because the scriptwriters also watch Bill [Fellows] and myself and see what we can give them.
