Tottenham have reportedly agreed a fee with Wolves for Matt Doherty as Jose Mourinho looks to strengthen his defence. Mourinho is in his first summer transfer window with Spurs and is focusing on his back-line currently, already signing Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from Southampton as well as goalkeeper Joe Hart.
Doherty appears to be next on Mourinho’s wish-list with Football Insider claiming a fee has already been agreed with Tottenham’s Premier League rivals.
It’s believed that Spurs will pay Wolves an initial £12m rising to a potential £16m with add-ons.Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo is already eyeing up replacements too, believed to be pursuing a deal for Arsenal star Ainsley Maitland-Niles.
