Sam Pollard’s new documentary, MLK/FBI, about the U.S. government's surveillance of Martin Luther King Jr., has been picked up by IFC Films for North America ahead of a world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival on Tuesday night.
A Jan. 15, 2021 release ahead of the Martin Luther King Jr. Day Holiday is planned. The film, shopped at the virtual Toronto Film Festival market by Cineticmedia after it was an official selection at Telluride, is based on newly discovered and declassified files, using a trove of documents obtained through the Freedom of Information Act and unsealed by the National Archives.
