TIPPING Point has been branded a "fix" by furious viewers as a contestant was "robbed" of huge winnings in a brutal twist. Host Ben Shephard was forced to discount a huge bundle of counters that fell from the machine because she "wasn't in play" when it happened.

Ben, 47, was joined by the new hopeful looking to win some cash on Monday's episode of Tipping Point. Fans of the popular ITV gameshow were left fuming by the bizarre rule, which saw contestant Lauren miss out on a huge number of counters.

The television presenter watched on as a number of counters were pushed from the machine after Lauren had finished incorrectly answering a question. "A little drop there, over in drop zone four," he pointed out as the counters fell from the ledge, as Lauren watched on hoping to bank the cash. "Unfortunately, Lauren, because those counters fell after your last counter had played out, you were no longer in play so they will have to be voided," Ben added. "No problem," Lauren replied, before she was asked to make the all-important to decision on whether or not to play on.

With £2,850 in the bank, Ben offered her the chance to leave with £10,000 should she be able to push the star-counter off with a final set of questions. "If it was more in the middle then I think I'd probably be quite inclined to go for it," Lauren replied. "It's just too much of a risk, Ben." "I think I'm going to have to just take the money please," she concluded, before going on to see what could of happened with her final counters. @font-face{font-family:'The Sun';src:url('/assets/fonts/the-sun/TheSun-Regular.woff2') format('woff2'),url('/assets/fonts/the-sun/TheSun-Regular.woff') format('woff'),url('/assets/fonts/the-sun/TheSun-Regular.ttf').
