Tiger Woods has confirmed he is flying out to Augusta, with his possible return at next week’s Masters tournament growing even more likely.
Woods hasn’t featured on the PGA Tour since suffering life changing injuries in a car accident in February 2021.The 15-time major winner was forced to go through an extensive rehabilitation process following the car crash in order to get back to full fitness.
And it was rumoured this return to the Tour could well be a fairytale one, after Woods was included on next week’s Masters provisional entry list late last month.Now, the five-time green jacket winner has given a further update on a potential Masters return, after he confirmed he would be flying out to Augusta on Sunday.
Woods tweeted: “I will be heading up to Augusta today to continue my preparation and practice. It will be a game-time decision on whether I compete.”It was reported last week that Woods had made an early trip to the famous Georgia course, after his private jet landed at Augusta Airport on Tuesday.
