Joseph Allen Maldonado-Passage (born March 5, 1963), better known by his stage name Joe Exotic, is an American former zoo operator, internet personality, musician, and convicted felon. The former owner and operator of the Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park (a.k.a. G. W. Zoo) in Wynnewood, Oklahoma, Maldonado-Passage had claimed to be the most prolific breeder of tigers in the United States. He twice unsuccessfully ran for public office, first for President of the United States in 2016 as an independent, and then for Governor of Oklahoma in 2018 as a Libertarian.

on Sept. 8 for attempted suicide, CNN reported.Charity told authorities that her husband killed himself in front of her during their argument in the garage.

Their children, ages 4 and 5, were in the house during the time of the incident, according to CNN.Johnson was taken to the hospital shortly after he was found to have a pulse at the scene, according to the police report, but he was pronounced dead at the hospital.
