A street has been left in shock after two men were arrested over the suspected murder of a 40-year-old man. Emergency services were called to Agecroft Road in Salford around 9.10pm last night to reports of an assault.

A 40-year-old man was pronounced dead a short time later with two men - aged 43 and 46 - arrested on suspicion of murder near the scene. A murder investigation has now been launched, with the cause of death still being investigated, GMP said. The victims identity is yet to be confirmed.

One man who lives just outside the cordon, Adam Crosby, said he saw people stood outside the house around 9pm. He said: “Police came and entered the house before coming out soon after.
