A big bash to celebrate the New Year is a custom as old as time at this point. After 12 eventful months it’s only normal to usher in a new chapter in the company of friends, family or merry strangers.
The most common way to celebrate is with a good old fashioned party, from nightclubs to halls or house-parties, thousands up and down the country are making plans and sending invites for the big soiree.
A staple for these parties is alcohol. Britain's drinking culture dictates that there be at least a couple bottles of bubbly on deck and more at most parties.
However, not everybody is a big fan of alcohol. There is the obvious reason like religion, but, in recent years there has been a rise in the number of people saying goodbye to alcohol.
