Passengers rushed to help an injured child after they were hit by a bus on a busy man road in Stockport on Monday afternoon (January 15).

An air ambulance was called to the scene of the collision on the A6 (Buxton Road) shortly after 3pm. Emergency services closed off the road in both directions as the child was rushed to hospital with 'serious injuries'.

The Manchester Evening News understands the child, thought to have been a boy, did not suffer life-threatening injuries in the crash.
