The Dig dropped on Netflix over the weekend and the period piece has already shot to number one. The film tells the story of an incredible archaeological dig in the early 1900s in England.

What makes it even more intriguing is the fact it was based on a true story. So yes, English landowner Edith Pretty really did hire archaeologist Basil Brown to excavate the mysterious mounds on her Sutton Hoo estate in southeast Suffolk in 1937.
