The release date for the new season of Peaky Blinders has been revealed in a creative way in Birmingham. A 12.71m (41.7ft) high mural of the series' main character Tommy Shelby has been painted on the side of a building overlooking the Old Crown pub in Digbeth.

The giant painting is accompanied by the release date: "final series 27 Feb". Street artist Akse - who also painted the portrait of Marcus Rashford in Manchester last year - spent seven days painting the mural.

The upcoming series will be the first to not feature Helen McCroy as the Shelby matriarch Polly Gray - the actress tragically died of cancer in April 2021.
