I own around a dozen pairs of jeans at the moment and only one pair has zero stretch. Look for the words elastane, Spandex or Lycra on the fabric tag.
I rarely, if ever, buy anything with less than two per cent stretch in it. If it says 100 per cent cotton, those jeans are going to offer you zero stretchability.My most important tip, though, is also the most often overlooked: when you lift your denim off the rack, turn the jeans around and examine the pockets.
Any brand that does not size up pockets as they size up the rest of the garment should be publicly shamed. Tiny pockets are a dead giveaway of bad denim, because pockets should be in proportion to the rest of the garment.
