first annual loss in 94 years, the heritage British retailer posted a half-year profit surge on 10 November, with expectations to make £500m this year.

Much credit for the turnaround has been given to the once-ailing M&S clothing department, an area of the business that has undergone radical transformation in the last two years.

A new strategy to deliver more streamlined own-brand collections, reduce clutter on the shop floor, and sell clothes by selected third party labels has been put into action - and clearly it is working.One of the highlights of said turnaround has been the hit collaboration between M&S and Ghost, the London-based label that has itself experienced a huge resurgence in recent years, and is now owned by Dragon’s Den.
