Meghan Markle may have been smitten with her Givenchy wedding dress when she walked down the aisle six years ago, but it appears not everyone was a fan - including Queen Elizabeth II.Six years ago today in 2018, Royal enthusiasts eagerly awaited as the Duchess of Sussex stepped out of the burgundy Rolls Royce outside St George's Chapel to reveal her wedding gown.

Meghan chose a minimalist white wedding dress with an open bateau neckline and three-quarter length sleeves.While many thought the Duchess looked graceful, it seems the late Queen found the dress "flamboyant" and inappropriate for a divorcee.

Prior to her relationship with Prince Harry, Meghan had been married to Trevor Engelson. Although Queen Elizabeth never publicly expressed her opinion about Meghan, she did confide in her cousin Lady Elizabeth Anson.

The pair used to converse on the phone daily, reports the Mirror. In an excerpt from Ingrid Seward's new book, shared with the Daily Mail, Lady Elizabeth revealed that the Queen had just one comment about Meghan's gown.
