Last year’s show delivered ABC’s biggest entertainment audience in adults 18-49 on a Sunday night since the Oscars. The American Music Awards will air as a three-hour show on Sunday Nov.
22, ABC and dick clark productions announced today (July 17). The show has been telecast from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles since 2007.
No venue was specified in the first release announcing the show. The release made no mention of the COVID-19 pandemic that has upended the awards show schedule this year, forcing some shows to be held online.
The release notes only: “Additional details regarding production of the show will be announced at a later date.” Last year’s show, held on Nov.
