Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Manchester United finally parted ways on Sunday after a dreadful run of form. Expectation was high at the Theatre of Dreams after United finished second in the Premier League last season, and brought in the likes of Raphael Varane, Jadon Sancho and Cristiano Ronaldo during the summer.
However, under Solskjaer’s stewardship, has this season floundered. United sit ninth in the table, 12 points behind leaders Chelsea.
Saturday’s 4-1 humiliation at relegation-threatened Watford was their fifth defeat in their last seven league games and ultimately proved to be the final nail in Solskjaer’s coffin, with Michael Carrick set to take a caretaker role.
