Tahith Chong is currently undergoing the first stages of his recovery at Manchester United after suffering a groin injury in training while on loan with Championship side Birmingham City.
But Blues manager Lee Bowyer hopes he can return to St Andrews for the remainder of the season. The midfielder impressed during the opening months of the campaign in the Midlands and established himself as one of the key figures in Bowyer's side, with his United experience evident.
However, his development was halted after suffering an innocuous injury in training that has resulted in surgery and a 16-week layoff which he will undergo with his parent club.
