Suspect named after man and woman 'stabbed' in Castlefield

A man has been charged in connection with an alleged double stabbing in Castlefield. Officers were called out to reports of a man and a woman being stabbed on Slate Wharf at around 12.30am on Sunday, August 4.

A cordon was in place during the morning, near to the Bridgewater Canal basin. Police have since arrested and charged a suspect.

Viet Tran, 21, of no fixed address, has been charged with two counts of Section 18 assault - otherwise known as grievous bodily harm (GBH).
