Sun-bathing grandad who slathered on cooking oil forced to have nostril removed

A former Royal Marine who used to sunbathe with cooking oil was left a huge hole in his nose through years of letting himself "fry" in the sun.

Les Chadderton used to sunbathe on helipads slathered in the oil. The 67-year-old from Aberdeen joined the military when he was a teenager and would sunbathe on his downtime in places like Singapore.

Once he left the forces he continued to enjoy getting a tan by mixing low factor lotion with baby oil on his holidays to Tenerife, reports the Daily Record.

But It wasn’t until he noticed a spot on his nose which wouldn’t stop bleeding whenever he towel dried, that he realised something was wrong.
