direct to your inboxBusinesses in Rochdale have been forced to put their own flood defences as the River Roch is reaching some of the 'highest levels in a long time.'Torrential rain which has been falling across Greater Manchester for more than 24 hours has meant many rivers are close to bursting.An 'immediate action' flood warning is in place for the River Roch in Rochdale for affected properties.The Environment Agency believe there is a possibility of flooding for the area from Roch Valley Way to Yorkshire Street and Albert Royds Street.Lee Rowlinson, a Director at the Environment Agency said: "The River Roch at Rochdale town centre is reaching some of the highest levels seen in a long time."Many of the businesses are helping by putting.
