Donald Trump 'still in touch' with pal Kim Jong-un after hoarding his 'love letters'
Donald Trump has claimed he and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un are still in touch.Even though Mr Trump has left the White House, the 45th President and the leader of North Korea are still pen pals, according to a new book.Maggie Haberman, a White House correspondent for The New York Times, said to CNN: "As we know, he had a fixation on this relationship."The claim is made in Haberman's upcoming book, Confidence Man, which alleges the former president and North Korean dictator "fell in love" after exchanging letters with one another.Despite three meetings discussing nuclear weapons breaking down between the two world leaders, Trump claims they are still in firm contact with one another.Ms Haberman has said that Trump's claims could not be verified and may not be true.She said: "What he says and what's actually happening are not always in concert, but he has been telling people that he has maintained some kind of correspondence or discussion with Kim Jong-un."Kim is the only foreign leader that Trump has claimed to still be in contact with.This week investigators searching for answers for the January 6 2021 attack on the Capitol recovered 15 boxes of official paperwork that Trump had transported to his residence at Mar-a-Lago.Two people who are familiar with the contents of the boxes claim the boxes contained correspondence with Kim which Trump himself once described as “love letters,” as well as a letter from Barack Obama.The US State Department has declined to comment on the matter, and the White House has yet to comment on the reported friendship.Since 1977's Logan Act, private US citizens have been forbidden from negotiating with foreign governments without authorisation from the act.President Joe Biden called the
