Cyberpunk 2077 mods are automatically disabled as a result of the launch of its latest expansion, Phantom Liberty, in order to safeguard the stability of the game.Phantom Liberty launches today (September 26) however it’s only available for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of the game. Fallout: New Vegas mod, created by user LDTheCourier, has restored content that was cut from the classic RPG’s original console release.Fallout: New Vegas launched way back in 2010 on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. Due to the hardware limitations of the time, a number of small details were removed from the game, as they would cause problems on console.LDtheCourier’s mod, which is available on Nexus Mods, restores this cut content – which includes more NPC animations, improved NPC AI and additional enemy spawns.

Nier: Automata community for days has been revealed to be an elaborate hoax from a group of modders. After footage of a secret room that led to a church was shared by Reddit user sadfutago on the game’s subreddit, the community was aflame with speculation as to whether or not this was a newly-discovered secret or some sort of elaborate hoax. Fallout 4 mod Fallout: London has shown off some in-game footage and given the game a rough release date.The downloadable content sized mod for the Bethesda game is now set to release sometime in 2023, with the development team creating new quests, stories, and open-world environments to explore.You can check out the announcement trailer below.In the mod, players will be able to explore an original story in a post-apocalyptic London from the Fallout universe. Even though Fallout: London isn’t an official expansion to the franchise, the development team has previously stated that it wants to adhere to the series’ canon, and make sure that any new concepts feel like they fit within the franchise.Last month NME sat down with project lead Dean Carter, who revealed that Fallout: London will have original music written specifically for the mod, which will aim to parody classic British music like The Beatles and David Bowie.‘Nuclear Submarine’ will blend The Beatles with Fallout‘s signature atom punk culture, for example.Carter also revealed that Fallout franchise alums Ron Perlman and Liam Neeson were approached for the mod, with Perlman’s agent telling the group that it “couldn’t ever afford him,” whilst Neeson simply said he was no longer interested in doing work for the franchise.“Visiting a totally new setting allows for us to explore totally new cultures which have not homogenised with their American counterparts,” reads the trailer description.

Slay The Spire adds a new playable class and an alternate way to play the game.The mod, called Downfall, started as a smaller project before blooming into a full expansion with its own Steam page (via PC Gamer).The mod adds a new character class called the Hermit, whose cards gain bonuses depending on where they are in the player’s hand.However, the main draw is the downfall mode. Players typically work their way up the spire defeating monstrous bosses, but in Downfall, players take control of a Boss and work their way from the top to bottom.As explained by the Steam page: “Instead of engaging in a Normal Run, you may now play in the alternate Downfall Mode, as one of seven Villain characters (with more to come!), and protect the spire from those who would harm it.“Despite there being a large number of them, these Villain characters have just as large of card pools, relics, potions, and everything else you’d expect from a complete character.

Skyblivion, a Skyrim mod aiming to remake Oblivion.The 15-minute video outlines how the developers do things like recreating 3D assets and clothing. The mod uses the Skyrim engine to completely remake the game that came before it (via Eurogamer).“What started out as a simple side project, has evolved into one of the biggest modding projects to date,” says the video’s voiceover.

Cities: Skylines have been bundled with malicious code by their creator, who reportedly used an automatic updater to infect users with a trojan horse and affected performance for specifically targeted fellow modders and developer Colossal Order employees.In 2021, a modder going by the name of Chaos launched a “redesigned” version of a mod called Harmony, a vital framework project that most mods in Cities: Skylines rely upon to function.Chaos also then “redesigned” several popular mods for the game, and listed his modified version of Harmony as a core download – meaning that players would have to go and download it for any dependent mods to work.However, it’s been discovered that an automatic updater was buried in this version of Harmony, which would allow Chaos to deliver malware to the devices of anyone that downloaded it. Other malicious code was used to cripple the performance of other mods, which in turn caused players to download more of Chaos’ mods as they were advertised as solutions to these issues.

Valheim is recreating a key location from Bethesda’s epic RPG, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim in Iron Gate’s viking survival game.Twitch streamer and creator Dreggas13 has been utilising Valheim’s settlement building aspects to craft a version of Riften, one of the nine major cities found in Skyrim (as spotted by PCGamesN). Found in the southeast of the continent, the heavily forested area borders key Elder Scrolls locations Morrowind and Cyrodiil.Dreggas13 has been showing off their work as part of an ongoing “Skyrim comes to Valheim” series on their Twitch channel, alongside showcasing developments on Reddit. The most recent development is the recreation of Riften’s Honeyside house, a property that can be purchased in Skyrim.
