Starbucks is reopening 150 of its UK cafes on Thursday. The outlets are mainly drive-thrus, but a “handful” of them are “takeaway-only stores”.
The coffee giant hopes this first phase of its reopening plans will be a success. Staff members have spent time “learning, testing and refining operational standards” to ensure health and safety regulations are stuck to.
New protective measures include two metre social distancing, screens at payment areas and the use of contactless payment only.
As always, regular hand washing is also mandatory. To help operations run smoothly, Starbucks is launching a limited menu for now.
