Jim Goodwin opens up on behind closed doors hope as St Mirren prepare for Celtic and Rangers tests

Celtic and Rangers, failing to pick up a point against the Glasgow giants. After an opening clash with Livingston on Saturday August 1, St Mirren take on Rangers at Ibrox the following Saturday before welcoming the Hoops to Paisley four days later.

With the games set to be played without fans in the stands, Goodwin is hoping he can pick up a first point as Saints manager against the powerful pair.

He said: “If you look at the games on the telly, so far home advantage doesn’t really seem to count for anything.“Hopefully, that’s still the case when we go to Ibrox for the second game.“I don’t know if there’s ever a good or bad time to be playing Celtic and Rangers, the two strongest teams in the league.“They’ve got the benefit of large squads.
