Update (12/1/21 4:19 p.m. ET): Former Georgia House of Representatives Minority Leader Stacey Abrams, 47, announced her campaign for governor of Georgia on Wednesday December 1.
Abrams announced her run with a short video and provided a link for supporters to donate to her campaign. In the video, she spoke about what causes she’s been dedicated to since her last gubernatorial run. “If our Georgia is going to move to its next and greatest chapter, we’re going to need leadership,” she said in a voiceover. “Leadership that knows how to do the job.
Leadership that doesn’t take credit without also taking responsibility. Leadership that understands the true pain folks are feeling and has real plans.
