Son told to 'break bones' of his 'murdered' mother to fit her remains into an urn
dailystar.co.ukgrieving son has claimed he was told to break the bones of his deceased mother in order to fit her inside of the urn needed to get her back home.Greg Jenkins, the son of the suspected murder victim, was told the remains of his dead mum would need to be broken down into pieces if he wanted her transported from Malaysia to Australia.Jenkins, from Adelaide, Australia, claims he was told this was the only way to transport her back in something that wasn't a cardboard box.The grieving son touched down with the remains of his mother, Annapuranee "Anna" Jenkins, who went missing while holidaying in Penang in 2017.Anna had reportedly gone missing after visiting a dentist and getting into an Uber, with the 66-year-old en-route to visit her mother's nursing home in George Town.
Anna had been travelling with her husband, Frank, at the time of her disappearance.A botched investigation into Anna's disappearance helmed by Malaysian authorities prompted Jenkins to launch his own appeal, offering a reward and searching the South-East Asian city.
In 2020, Jenkins found his mother's skull and spine fragments at a construction site. He and sister Jen Brown blame Malaysian authorities for not being able to bring Ms Jenkins home alive, with the pair having to bring their mother back home in a cardboard box.
Jenkins said: "They were trying to say that if I put them into a jar, I would have to break the bones. I was pretty disgusted; there was no empathy and there was definitely no mincing my words on what I thought of that suggestion."Instead, Jenkins brought his deceased mother home in a cardboard box, and the family still believe the 66-year-old was murdered, with plans to have a forensic examination on the remains back in Australia,.
