Scottish Ministers have been accused of bringing back plans to scrap jury trials as a way of coping with Coronavirus.The Government dropped the controversial proposal recently after an outcry by opposition politicians.However, an options paper suggested the powers of sheriff courts could be increased, which would dispense with the need for juries.All jury trials are currently suspended in order to protect people from Covid-19.SNP Justice Secretary Humza Yousaf originally wanted to scrap jury trials for up to 18 months, but the proposal was abandoned on the eve of a Holyrood vote.At a virtual roundtable, stakeholders will debate nine options suggested by the Government on how high-level criminal trials can be conducted.The High Court deals
