Beijing Winter Olympics - and caught the whole thing on his helmet camera providing frightening results. The 28-year-old raced in a semi-final that included Canada's Eliot Grondin, Austria's Alessandro Hammerle and Merlin Surget of France - but finished last to miss out on a medal race.Later competing in the small final to determine his ranking among the unsuccessful competitors, Eguibar went up against American Jake Vedder and Tommaso Leoni of Italy as well as Surget again.Wearing a helmet camera in a bid to show those at home what it looks like for the riders, the footage had a different effect after he crashed. With Surget leading and Vedder taking a wide line coming up to a jump, Leoni slipped onto his back directly in front of the unfortunate Eguibar. With his camera still live on the broadcast, the 28-year-old couldn't avoid making contact with his fallen rival before bouncing off the back of Vedder. With the US rider somehow staying upright to chase down Surget, Eguibar did a full 180 before continuing the race to finish in third. Is snowboard cross the best event at the Winter Olympics?

You didn't have to put the head cam on but we're so glad you did."With a second saying: "That was amazing!!!!"A third concluded: "Loving watching Snowboard Cross!"Although the race was certainly not the worst of the ongoing games, the fresh view gave viewers at home a sense of the speed and danger the athletes are risking. With Eguibar matching his 7th place finish from the 2014 Olympic Games in Sochi, he improved on the 33rd he got in Pyeongchang last time out. With his former opponents Hammerle and Grondin.
