Sir Ian Holm hailed as ‘the beating heart’ of the Lord Of The Rings trilogy

Frozen star Josh Gad has paid tribute to Sir Ian Holm as “the beating heart” of the Lord Of The Rings trilogy following his death at the age of 88.

Last month, Gad hosted a reunion for the cast of Peter Jackson’s much-loved films as part of his Reunited Apart YouTube series, attended by stars including Sir Ian McKellen, Orlando Bloom and Elijah Wood.

Despite being unable to attend, Sir Ian, who played the hobbit Bilbo Baggins, sent a letter to his castmates.
