SIR David Jason has revealed he doesn't think Bradley Walsh's Darling Buds of May reboot is as good as the original. The much-loved British drama was brought back to life last year as The Larkins and pulled in four million viewers across each of its six episodes.
While Sir David, who played Pop Larkin in the early 90s, enjoyed the series, he admitted it was odd watching a new version. Speaking to The Sun during a rare appearance at the Cirque Du Soleil Luzia premiere last night, he said: "I thought it was quite good, not quite as good as the original.
It felt quite deja vu, it was a strange feeling." And Sir David, 81, didn't have any tips for multi-talented Chase host Bradley, adding: "He didn't really need it." The Larkins follows the lives of a working class family as they go about their business in a small village in rural Kent.
Although the family are kind and always try their best, they're constantly met with challenges from nosy neighbours and snobby authorities.
