'Simply Red' stars slammed for 'rating cultures' in controversial tweets

dailystar.co.ukBritish band Simply Red have been criticised for appearing to create a "coolest cultures on the planet" list. The owner of the Simply Red Twitter account has received backlash after it listed the top five "coolest cultures on planet Earth" before it went on to write: "1.
African Americans (they invented cool) 2. Working Class British Musicians. 3. (A close 3rd) Jamaicans 4. Jewish Americans 5.
Flamenco Gypsies. [sic]" The account then went on to post famous musicians who fell into each category including James Brown, Chuck Berry, The Beatles and The Rolling Stones.
The social media posts promoted a barrage of angry responses with some using Alan Partridge memes to mock the singer, while others criticised him.
