A shark documentary maker who was filming for her latest project was attacked by one while snorkelling on her day off. Remarkable footage shows the unnamed woman giving the thumbs-up before shouting "I still love sharks, sharks are beautiful" as she was being wheeled into hospital on a stretcher.
The 29-year-old suffered a 10cm bite to her left leg and a suspected fracture after she attacked by a shark near Fitzroy Island, off the coast of Cairns in Queensland, Australia.
Paramedics say she was snorkelling about 100 metres offshore when she was bitten, 9 News reports. Swimmers and doctors rushed to help her and performed first aid before paramedics were alerted to the shark attack on Tuesday morning at around 2.45 am BST.
