A second coronavirus wave could hit countries in autumn, a top World Health Organisation doctor has claimed. Dr Hans Kluge warned the second wave is expected to hit in early September, with Covid-19 having claimed an estimated 38,389 deaths in the UK so far.

Dr Kluge told the Telegraph: “I’m very concerned about a double wave – in the fall, we could have a second wave of Covid and another one of seasonal flu or measles.
