twin granddaughters have launched an online bid to get their cash back – after the thieving sisters avoided having to pay compensation.Crawford and Marlene Pirrie, from Irvine, Ayrshire, were left heartbroken when Marlene’s grandchildren Clair and Louise Smith drained their bank account of £8000 while posing as doting carers of the pensioners.Relatives were furious when the 25-year-old twins avoided jail last week, with a sheriff sentencing them to a three-month tagging order and making no order for them to pay back the cash.Crawford and Marlene’s daughter Lyndsey Brown, 41, told the Record she had launched a crowdfunder in a bid to restore the couple’s “faith in humanity” after learning that the bank will not compensate any of the stolen.
