Police have launched a probe after a woman was conned out of a four-figure sum of cash by “shameless” fraudsters pretending to offer roofing work.
Two men turned up at the home of the 66-year-old woman on August 6 claiming to be from a roofing company. They convinced the resident, from Bellesleyhill Avenue in Ayr, that her roof needed repairs.
