Scotland’s new coronavirus rescue package will provide relief for music venues and record stores

Live shows are being hit hard in the wake of the virus The Scottish Government have announced a £320 million rescue package for small businesses hit by the coronavirus.

The plan has been put in place for the 2020-21 financial year in an effort to limit the impact the outbreak has on Scotland’s economy.

Music venues and independent record stores in the country will benefit from the measures, which include a 75 percent rates relief for the retail, hospitality and leisure sectors with a rateable value of less than £69,000 from April 1 2020.

A fund of £80 million will also provide grants of at least £3,000 to small businesses in sectors that are facing the worst economic impact from the pandemic.
