Neil Lennon

Neil Francis Lennon (born 25 June 1971) is a Northern Irish football coach and former player who is the manager of Scottish Premiership club Celtic. During his playing career he represented English clubs Manchester City, Crewe Alexandra and Leicester City.

Lennon moved to Scottish club Celtic in 2000, where he made over 200 appearances and was appointed captain in 2005. Before retiring as a player, he returned to England and played for Nottingham Forest and Wycombe Wanderers. Lennon made 40 appearances for Northern Ireland in nine years, scoring two goals. Lennon was appointed manager of Celtic in March 2010, initially in a caretaker capacity after the departure of Tony Mowbray.

Neil Lennon ’s squad landed a couple of days ago and are based on the outskirts of Lyon, where they have been working on getting game ready for Thursday night’s opener against Nice.

Celtic kick off at 5.15pm UK time at Lyon’s Groupama Stadium – with Rangers squaring up with the hosts immediately afterwards at 7.45pm.Lennon’s troops will recover back at their camp and they could get the chance to see their Old Firm rivals in action against Nice at 5.15pm on Saturday night.

The champions then take on Lyon – and face a reunion with former Celt Moussa Dembele  – at 7.45pm, with the trophy possibly on the line.

Celtic will say a fond farewell to their Glasgow chums at that stage and while Rangers will return to Scotland, the Parkhead men will.
