Perth and Kinross as the council looks to balance its budget.Increasing the cost of school meals, parking charges and residential care are just some of the proposals being put to councillors.Perth and Kinross Council will set its 2021/22 budget on Wednesday, March 10 as it looks to plug a £17 million gap.A spokesperson for PKC said the COVID-19 pandemic had put an “unprecedented financial uncertainty” on the council’s future expenditure and income.Last month Perth and Kinross councillors agreed to freeze council tax in 2021/22.On Wednesday they will meet to set a one-year budget for the forthcoming tax year.A raft of increases in fees and charges have been proposed in Perth and Kinross.The cost of school dinners could rise by 50p a week.
