SAS hero who once returned solo to save hostages from terrorists in Kenya has opened up about what it felt like getting shot.
In January 2019, 21 people were killed during a 19-hour siege by terrorists on a luxury hotel complex in Kenya’s capital Nairobi.
The number of casualties could have been much higher but for the interventions of a balaclava-wearing British SAS soldier, who returned to help rescue civilians and eliminate the attackers.
At first, Christian Craighead had hidden his identity, but in August 2021 the SAS veteran shared a photograph revealing that he had been the soldier involved in the rescue operation.
