Warning, this story confirms graphic images Leigh Centurions full-back Ryan Brierley sustained a horror eye injury during Thursday’s defeat to Leeds Rhinos at Emerald Headingley which required him to undergo emergency treatment.
The former Huddersfield Giants, Toronto Wolfpack and Hull Kingston Rovers star was hurt during the closing stages of the Centurions’ 48-18 loss.
The injury was sustained when the 29-year-old attempted to stop Leeds prop Tom Holroyd scoring and was accidentally hurt in the process.
