Russia to unleash hypersonic nuclear 'Satan-2' weapon despite coronavirus outbreak

Russia is pressing ahead with plans to test and deploy new deadly hypersonic "Satan-2" despite a worrying coronavirus outbreak at space corporation Roscosmos.

The 188-tonne intercontinental ballistic missile – officially called RS-28 Sarmat – is the biggest beast in Vladimir Putin’s nuclear arsenal, due to go into service next year.

The decision on the new-generation weapon comes despite two deaths at Roscosmos and infections rising to 42. And it comes as Russia released video and images of the military flaunting the world's largest mortar system just last week.
