Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's eldest child Archie Mountbatten-Windsor celebrates his third birthday today and despite being so far away, the royal family have marked the occasion with greetings on social media.
But royal fans have been left fuming at the fact that the Queen, Prince Charles and the Cambridges have all used an "old" photo to wish the youngster many happy returns.
Harry and Meghan have been kept away from the Royal Family for around two and a half years, following family tensions, a shock relocation to California and a global pandemic.Archie, who is seventh-in-line to the throne, was last in the UK in autumn of 2019, before the Sussexes went to spend Christmas in Canada.This means that the young tot hasn't had the opportunity to be snapped at royal events with the rest of the family.The Royal Family Instagram account, managed by the Queen's staff, wrote the message: "Wishing Archie Mountbatten-Windsor a very happy 3rd birthday."The sweet message was accompanied by an old and iconic photo of Her Majesty meeting her great-grandson for the first time in 2019.Prince Charles and the Cambridges were also forced to use an old snap, choosing the same one they shared last year.Royal fans have been left disappointed and "sad" after seeing the photo that accompanied the Queen's happy birthday post.One disgruntled fan said: "Why can’t they use a 'now' photo of Archie?
That’s sad."Another wrote: "So nice to see a photo with Prince Phillip.
