Roller-skater tackled by police after almost crashing into King Charles's car

London on Friday (September 16) evening as concerned police officers tackled him to the floor after he almost crashed into King Charles' car.The new King was on his way to Westminster Hall where he performed a vigil beside the coffin of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II.

However, their concerns were soon allayed when they realised the man had no intention of causing harm.A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “At approximately 7.40pm, as police vehicles were entering Parliament Square, a pedestrian attempted to cross the road. “An officer on foot quickly intervened, bringing the man to the ground in order to stop him from continuing.

The man was subsequently spoken to by officers before being let on his way.”It was hardly the ideal circumstances ahead of Charles' involvement in the Virgil of the Princes, where he stood alongside siblings Prince Andrew, Princess Anne and Prince Edward in a traditional ceremony as the Queen lie in state.Thousands of mourners have queued for hours this week as they waited patiently to pay their respects to the Queen before her funeral at Westminster Abbey on Monday.
