Robert Lewandowski can officially lay claim to the highest-scoring Bundesliga season of all time, having broken Gerd Muller’s 49-year-old record.
Lewandowski had to wait until the last minute of the final game of the campaign to net his 41st goal this term, surpassing the 40 scored by Muller in the 1971-72 season.

Though it was parried by Augsburg goalkeeper Rafal Gikiewicz, Lewandowski pounced on the rebound to score from five yards. The goal led to wild celebrations, with Lewandowski ripping off his shirt before being mobbed by his teammates.
