Just as people were gearing up to watch her and her pro-partner Kai Widdrington dance together in the final, viewers across the nation were delivered a hard blow.The 33-year-old explained to fans that she'd suffered a "traumatic impact injury" to her right ankle which had affected the joint and ligaments.It all came out of the blue for AJ - who explained nothing had specifically happened in training that would have caused the pain to occur.Here, Daily Star explores what happened next to poor AJ.After a weekend of training, AJ knew something had not been right with her right ankle and sought medical intervention.Sharing a picture of herself with a bandage covering her foot while holding crutches, she explained: "I've got a repeated traumatic impact injury to my right ankle affecting the joint, capsule and ligaments themselves. "I can't pinpoint a moment it actually happened during training but the pain came on suddenly on Monday night." She added: "The pain was so acute that I projectile vomited and currently I can't put any weight on my right foot without agonising discomfort. "Because I'm unable to move without crutches, we haven't been nor will be able to rehearse properly ahead of the live final.

To say I'm devastated would be a huge understatement and I am gutted." At the time AJ remained "hopeful" and "positive" that she and her partner Kai would be able to compete in the final.

Things went from bad to worse when the TV star had been forced to forfeit her position in the competition on medical grounds.Appearing on Strictly's spin off show It Takes Two - hosted by former X Factor star Rylan Clark - AJ and Kia confirmed the news we'd all be dreading - that they wouldn't make the final.After.
