The former footballer met the ex Towie star shortly after Rebecca lost her battle to cancer at the age of 34 in 2015 and they have since gone on to get married and have a child together.
Just two years later he also lost his mum Janice, age 58, to cancer and he reached a very low point, which Kate helped him get out of.
He told Sportsmail: “You really do learn about yourself. “I was so low that you don't see a way out. But if you have good people then you can claw your way out to the point where you are as happy as you have ever been. “Kate has helped to make me a better man.
