A night of boxing went ahead in Nicaragua in order to assist a group of ‘poor’ boxers. The event took place at the 8097-capacity Alexis Arguello Sports Centre in Managua at the weekend, with governors claiming that there have only been 11 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the surrounding area.

Lightweight fighters Ramiro Blanco and Robin Zamora went head-to-head at the culmination of a night that had around 800 spectators sitting at least one metre apart, with boxers sprayed with disinfectant while in the ring.
