Richard is now backing Alzheimer's Society's emergency appeal to raise funds for those in need during the coronavirus pandemic, and has revealed how he felt while watching his mother's health deteriorate at the time. "She was diagnosed with lung cancer and dementia on the same day, and at the time we thought that was two completely separate conditions," he told PA.
